Home main entrance
For this visit, we went to Pusat Jagaan Anbe Sivam, located in Taman Sentosa, Klang. The premise is a corner lot, about 100 meters opposite of Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, which you can see the sign board if you stop at the traffic light.
There is a total of nearly 60 people in the current location. the youngest tenant is about 2 years old, while the oldest is 88 years old. they are currently in progress of setting up another resident for the males tenants. As today is a Sunday, all of them are at home and it was very crowded and merry. The kids are happy to see us and we are glad that we are able to give our little contribution. We did ask if they need any tuition but as the caretaker was not around, we didnt manage to an answer.
The kids does goes to Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Unjur, which is about 2km from the home. There are volunteers who drive them using the van, while the special privilege kids goes to the nearby Sekolah Khas Klang.
The caretaker is Mr Muthu, whom we didnt manage to meet for this round, hopefully we are able to interview him the next time.

Van to fetch the kids to school
Persatuan Kebajikan Teratak Shifa is also known as Rumah Anak Yatim & Saudara Baru Shifa. This is an orphanage for female Muslim only. The care taker is Hajah Che Thom (Mak Thom) with help from her eldest son Encik Adlin. Mak Thom does the home management while En Adlin will drive the girls to school and religious school everyday (morning, noon and afternoon - for religious school).
The current home is not big, hence the kids need to share room with each other. Six kids will share a room. Each room have three double decker bed.
The home consist of 18 kids age from 6 - 17 years old. Mak Thom teaches the kids to be independent and to prepare them to graduate from the orphanage to the outside world. The kids are taught to do their own laundry, performing house chores on weekend (4 people in a team).
Once the kid teen is 18 years old, Mak Thom will not sponsor for them, but they are still allowed to stay at the home until they are financially strong to move out to stay by themselves, which is why Mak Thom always focus on the kids' education so they can go to local university with government loan and get a good job later.
Currently they paid RM1700 for the home rental every month. She is planning to buy a new bigger home for the kids which requires at least RM200k. She already got RM700k loan (MAX) from the bank. The new home cost around RM1.2 million.
