Dearest friend - Chin Lun,

I know you since form 1 in Maxwell High School in 1990...that was exactly 20 years ago...time flies and i starts to miss u.

In those schooling day, i feel and belief you are such a stubborn, selfish, negative thinking & always think that other people always owes you something in this world.

We get to know each other truly when i joined Taekwondo club in form 4. From there, i realised that you are not that difficult to friend with. I found that you will care for people that close to you and stand in the same line together with them to defence and fight for right together.

I also learnt that you are strong minded and always has a high desire to do something difference. e.g: The reverse jumping swing kick from your left....which always caught me on my right face...i hate that actually. I still remember the jumping jet side kicks that you shown me to discourage opponent to come close during a sparring event...i'm loving it!

I left KL 3 years for my study @ northern and lost touch with a lot of people...thank to Danny, re-connected me to you...from there we laugh again over the SPM study camp @ Kajang of the "Sarjan Ali Hassan story" and how DesXXXX put one hand on the wall while he XXXXXXX (Censored due to privacy act).

God is being unfair when i heard you gotten the ENT nose Cancer... i was shocked and i still remember.. trying to call you (another memory of you being not using a hand phone until few years back). You have really totally 360 changed!

The Lai which is selfish, negative thinking and belief people owes you thing in this world changed totally! You become caring about strangers, people who need helps, and love to socialise with strangers.

I would like to SALUTE you for helping Matthew Lim - the new born baby who suffers from heart arterials...... despite you illness, you still go to Gleneagles Hospital 830pm to drop the first donation to Steward Lim (Father of Matthew). Allow me to deep BOW because you just don't stop there to help Matthew...your FB and Blogs were used to reach more public to cry for the donation to help the little poor innocence Matthew to keep his life.

Tenant: 10 old folks, 2 single mother, 11 children (age 7months - 14yo).

Our last visit was 27 Oct 2013, the center is having some renovation to extend their kitchen and storage area.

8/6/14 we revisited this center and found the condition remain the same - DIRTY & SMELLY!

The hall and car pouch area has been painted. There is a washing machine placed at the car pouch area. There are donors that sent some solid rack / shelf for the home to put their groceries.

We bought below items for the center:

1. Floor Cleaner Detergent X 3bottles (2l)

2. Shower Soap 6 x 3 bars

3. Rice - 10kgs x 10 bags

4. Toilet Bowl detergent x 3 bottles

5. Dish washer detergent x 3 bottle (5l) 

6. raw plain maggie mee x 5 packs

7. Raw bee hoon x 5kgs

The center has lot of dried and canned food such as biscuit, rice, canned sardine, jam and etc. What they need now is more on raw food:

1. Raw Chicken meat

2. Raw Fish

3. Fish ball

The caretaker told us that they are in need of RM1,500 to run the OPEX (Water, electricity) and wanted public donation.

"I am sorry to inform that 1Month1Charity does not contributing CASH to any homes. This is to avoid misuse of funds that suppose to cater to provide basic needs". "We will only contribute cash in the event of LIFE and DEAD - Medical funds". - This is our 1Month1Charity policy.

Till then, we shall get some raw meat for the home soon.

Groceries For the Needies - May 2014

Our monthly groceries for the needies, 1M1c sponsored Dr Azma's Projek Ringan Beban for 10 families in need. The families are all located in Klang and one in Puchong. Needless to say, the same modus operandi for every activity - prepurchase a day earlier and pack before the day. For this month, it started very early - 5th of the month, compared to Tony's month end.

The journey bring us to "new" places in Klang that I myself wont go in normal days.. but I guess, its normal for me nowadays.. ;) Our delivery date was 4th May 2014, Sunday 1000am...and I will let the picture tell the story...

Ready to go!

1st family - 7 kids.. parents doing odd jobs

2nd - family - father passed away, mother is working as petrol attendant nearby, 6 children.

3rd family - 6 children, with 1 with medical condition. Rental here is not cheap either. RM350!

4th family - 6 children in the family, eldest sitting SPM this year.

5th family - old granny with grandson. The grandson cant do heavy work due to accident. She has 3 daughters and 1 son, all who have their own family to attend to.

Bandar Suleiman, Port Klang.. low cost but rental can reach RM350-450!

Dr Azma/Roshidah has applied low cost housing for her, and currently waiting for approval.

7th family - old granny with one grandchild. The house is on private land

8th family - single mom with 3 kids, eldest just finish SPM, working in McD.

9th family - an old couple at Bkt Kuda Klang.

Monthly medication is expensive for him..

10th home - the second last home. Rumah Safiyyah.

A Day in HELP Community Learning Center

Segment- Refugee center with 70 kids from Myanmar and Pakistan age from 5-15 years old

Along the years, we have visited HELP once awhile, and we had our first Christmas party there. For this round, its a revisit and see how things are getting along there. Based on our conversation with Chris, the following are the items they need:-

1) Two 42" LCD TV for online conferencing study, any brand.
This TV will be placed into their computer lab, linked into UNHCR online education portal. The TV are to display the online education program as part of the teaching program for the kids here.

2) Consumables Items

a.    Biscuits (various types) @ 35 kgs a month                                                        

b.    Exercise books (various types) 40 books a month                           

c.    White board markers (with refill) Pilot Board Master Blue/Black, refills. 

1M1c KL Chapter decided to hosted a get together luncheon with the kids to cheer them up. Our belated founder Lai Chin Lun's family supposed to join us, but regretfully to hear that they were unable to make it. We ordered fried mee, beehoon, roasted chicken and pork for the kids and the teachers here .... Can consider teacher's day celebration..haha...

Groceries for the Needies at Kg Batu Laut, Tanjung Sepat - April 2014

What a day! Had a fulfilling day with Tanjong Sepat folks and also a big team of volunteers. After weeks of planning and planning, we finally delivered what we need to do. Many thanks to volunteers from KL who joined us the first time..who automatically appointed to take charge of the Rice Dept, Grocery Bag Dept and Egg Dept! Thanks to Klang team who had also come in full force.

We had a convoy of 14 cars meeting up in Morib Beach and managed to arrive at our destination without any issue...even though lead car drove 'a bit' to fast (was within speed limit...). Upon meeting up at Morib Beach, I gave everyone a super duper quick briefing before we proceed to destination. Meanwhile, at the hall, the part of the groceries were being unloaded.

Upon arrival of the destination, everyone help in unloading the groceries from the car to the hall. Due to the hall arrangement, we had some minor hiccups initially but soon things start to take its natural course and it was breeze after that.I am truly grateful today for the help given to the group as tonight, 80 families will not need to worry about food for the month.

Drawing attention with the amount of rice we buy everytime! Maybe we should wear a T-shirt which says - "The End of the World is coming, Be Prepared?" ha ha.. Hmm.. or "Grandpa has a lot of wives..."

I believed everyone had a good time - volunteers and recipients alike. Thanks to our volunteers Muka & brothers who fetch the grandma and her grandchild to buy school uniform as we were not sure of his size. Luckily we didnt pre-purchased, as the grandson was taller than the usual Form 2 student. Also thanks to Joanne who drove our recipients home and loaded them with additional diapers. Additional diapers were given to the needy families due the condition of the recipients.

My appreciation to Gladys Wong who managed to bring the donors together for a good cause. And not forgetting all the donors who have responded quickly upon the moment the event was created in Facebook. Thank you again! Many thanks to all Dr Azma/Shida who had filled up their car with 80 packs of groceries. it was so full till it reached the roof top. Hence, I will be doing donation drive for Exora or Navara soon....hehehe... Again, many thanks to all sponsors and volunteers who have make this event successful one!
