Grocery for the Needies @PPR Bt Muda Jalan Ipoh - Oct 2015

For October 2015,our original destination was Johan Setia, but due to last minute changes, we decided to change to PPR Batu Muda, Jalan Ipoh. This would be our third time here (including Free Market event). We worked with the committee for the list of 90 needy families. For this round, we were lucky that our rice sponsors decided to upgrade the rice from 5kg to 10kg! Many thanks to the group from Tratles.net.

We had a dozen of volunteers this round, which make things move very fast in terms of loading of the rice, but still its not easy to carry across the field. But with teamwork, we clear it out pretty fast!

90 packs of rice in nick of time.

Parking is a nightmare and we work real fast to clear it up for the traffic

I think this is the hardest job of all.. getting ppl IN LINE!

The other end - upon receiving their bounty

Helping out the recipients
We completed the distribution in about 1 hour and recipients went home happy. There are actually about 600-700 families there, but we only manage to do 90 families which is only a fraction of the population here. Looking at the current economy climate, we hope other NGOs will also provide some help to the needy families. Again, many thanks to all the sponsors and volunteers who have made a difference in their life.

Sponsorship of Wheel Chairs to NGO

We received a request to sponsor for wheel chairs to the needy families from Pertubuhan Amal Sosial Masyarakat Penyayang Malaysia. We checked around wholesale for medical equipment to get the best price for this. At the end, we managed to get an OKU who manufacture the wheelchairs. So, we got the price for RM240 after negotiation.

A request for sponsorship was posted on Facebook and within no time, 14 chairs were pledged and committed by sponsors. Thank you very much for making a difference to the needy families. Upon on logistics and payment done, we arranged for delivery on Friday 2nd Oct 2015 at the NGO's office at Pandan Indah.

Took awhile to arrive due to traffic jam..nevertheless, it arrived!

Total of 11 wheelchairs were delivered due to space limitations

QC!

Visit to Persatuan Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal Negeri Selangor (Banting) - Sept 2015

We found this home through Facebook appeal for groceries. However, upon checking, the caretaker Mr Chan inform us that there has been a lot of donations of groceries (dry goods) till November. Hence, its important to check what are the items they need before you proceed to the home. There were request for electrical items and also grass cutter - which was purchased and delivered to the home earlier. As there are enough dry groceries, we decided not to buy groceries but to buy pizza for the tenant. There were also sponsors of chocolates and candies. We also take a copy of their TNB which comes to about RM2000 monthly.
